Our minimum ratio of staff to children is as follows:
Babies (up to 18 months of age) 1 adult to 3 children
Toddlers ( 18 months of age to 2 years +) 1 adult to 3 children/1 adult to 4 children
Pre-school (3 - 5 years of age) 1 adult to 8 children
There is always a qualified Nursery Nurse supervising each age group. Staff ensure that they know all the children in their area and each child is assigned a ‘Keyworker’ with whom both child and parent/carer can build up a special relationship. We believe that continuity is very important and will always strive to achieve it. In addition to this we place importance on all staff being given opportunities to gain sound knowledge of every child that attends. Familiarity with all staff aids children with their transition from class to class and ensures they feel secure.
Our staff have been selected to provide the highest standards of care and education for your child and are expected to work as part of a dedicated team. Our aim is to ensure all children’s needs are met by providing an environment where enjoyment and fun are linked with discovery and learning. Before starting at the nursery all staff are thoroughly vetted this procedure is supported by the Disclosure and Barring Services, staff then participate in a rigorous induction before employment commences. All staff are expected to have a firm commitment with regards to on going training to ensure that they can offer the best quality of care and learning experiences for your child.
Our Nursery Manager is the ‘Responsible Person’ in the Nursery and an experienced Nursery Practitioner with many years experience in Early Years.
All nursery practitioners are either NVQ level 2/3 qualified or working towards.
